Biography

Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., known as the First Lady of Nutrition, is a highly respected health pioneer, award-winning author of numerous books, and a graduate of CCNH’s holistic nutrition program. From the publication of Beyond Pritikin in 1988 to the revolutionary weight loss book, The Fat Flush Plan, Gittleman has dedicated herself to breaking new ground in all aspects of health.

As Adjunct Professor for Holistic Nutrition, Gittleman collaborates with the curriculum department on course development, and she is a link to the latest information and current trends in nutrition. In her partnership with the college, she is a frequently featured speaker at CCNH’s Educational Events and Natural Health Conferences, as well as at major trade shows in the natural products industry. Additionally, two of her books are used in the school’s curriculum.

Gittleman regularly appears on national television and radio programs, and she is a regular contributor to magazines and newspapers. Millions of readers follow her advice in the popular magazine, First for Women, where she has been a columnist since 2003. As a follow up to her New York Times bestseller, The Fat Flush Plan, Gittleman’s latest book, The Gut Flush Plan, was published in May, 2008.

Gittleman continues to dedicate herself to carving out new landmarks in holistic health and healing based on science and the ancient healing arts. Through her many books, Web site, and free e-letter, Gittleman offers a health support system for men and women that provides educational and self-health assessment services to empower people everywhere to achieve total health.
